In and around our cities between the architecture and waste management we find the confetti offerings of street art. Some call it a crime, some call it improvement; some of these statements are large and multifaceted while others are tiny and nondescript. The prolific adornments add to what once was seen as form adjacent function, now stand like a thoughtful intermissions within the sight-lines path, brief monuments to cultural abbreviation, idealistic layovers from the engineered and bureaucratic ensemble that is the record of a city. Reality absent idea, spirit absent people, art absent structure… this is were graffiti is born. Idea, reality, GRAFFITI the truth of a thing is often greater than the idea, from the foundation to the capstone and on through time, people mark the path for the creature it becomes.
